This picture is a testament to a vision I had 13 years ago. I saw a need—an urgent, unmet need—and believed that with innovation, anointing, and hard work, a group of believers could solve it. Today, that vision has become reality. Next week, the first 12 single moms will walk through the doors of 8091 and step onto their Pathway out of poverty. Each one will embark on a journey that transforms their circumstances and futures. They’ll be trained as medical assistants through Ascension's Nursing Pipeline, gaining skills that open doors to stability. They'll adopt a growth mindset through SkillsLine, empowering them to thrive. With savings and checking accounts through Citizens State Bank, they'll gain financial tools for success. Through our partnerships and generous donors, they’ll receive matching funds to purchase homes, setting down roots for their families. FireFly will provide family support, nurturing the bonds that sustain them. Partners in Change, alongside dedicated volunteers, will offer life coaching to guide each mom along her journey. NOW CFO and Citizens State Bank will equip them with the financial wisdom to manage their new $50,000 starting salaries. Thanks to our network of donors, their homes will be fully stocked with essential supplies. They will have opportunities to deepen their faith through local church partnerships. They’ll be strengthened by our Dream Center mindset principles, fostering resilience. And, most of all, they will be empowered by the drive and resilience God instilled in them from the very start. We arrived at the moment we’d long waited. This is a collective victory built by many hands and hearts. God is our source, and His people are His resource. Every person, in big ways and small, has left their fingerprint on this mission. I may have submitted to a God-inspired vision, but it was people—faithful, passionate, committed people—who transformed that vision into a Dream and that Dream into reality. Over the next three years, we will lead 19 cohorts—nearly 225 single moms—through this transformative journey. Each cohort will be evaluated individually and collectively to ensure success. At the end of Pathways, each mom will be positioned to secure a self-sufficient, fulfilling new life—the life they’ve always dreamed of. I am beyond excited about what God will do through this work. I can’t wait to see the transformative mark this ministry leaves on our city, our state, and, eventually, our country. Under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, I know we will develop the infrastructure and capacity to address the needs of the 35 million single moms nationwide who are waiting for their new beginning. In a groundbreaking move to break the cycle of poverty in Marion County, the Dream Center Indianapolis has been awarded a substantial $4.7 million TANF block grant through the Indiana Department of Family Services. This grant aims to build a strategic alliance to launch the innovative Dream Center Pathway Program, designed to uplift 200 single mothers in the Crooked Creek Community on the northwest side of Indianapolis. Central Indiana has nearly 20,000 nonprofits dedicated to saving lives and supporting those in crisis. Yet, many at-risk and vulnerable families, especially single mothers, remain underserved and without a pathway to stability. The Dream Center Indianapolis seeks to bridge this gap by focusing on the ALICE population—Asset Limited, Income-Constrained, Employed. These hardworking moms often juggle multiple jobs to make ends meet yet may earn $35,000 or less annually. Our mission is to partner with them, providing the boost they need to thrive.
