Birds seem to like to attack or try to eat drones as they are flying. As a pilot, my #1 goal is to fly my mission safely without crashing my drone. In West Texas "WIND" is my #1 flight stopper, #2 is "RAIN", and #3 (believe it or not) is birds. Hawks, owls, crows, scissor-tails, yellow birds, etc. these birds either want the drone gone from their area or want to try and eat it! Either way, a bird strike is NEVER good for the drone. If 1 propeller gets damaged, the drone will fall to the ground and usually end up with major damage. I have tried many things to keep birds away from my drones, the BEST I have found is Reflective DOT Tape. I have been using it for months and swear by it. I have seen hawks dive at my drone only to break hard right or left when the reflection spooks them (I guess). Here is a video showing you how the sun refelection off of the DOT Tape looks like.
