Here is a recent example of how Indigenous Nations are still being left out of decisions that directly impact their lands, and how the clean energy industry continues to disregard our priority communities. Thank you, High Country News, for reporting on FEMA's blatant disregard for Yakama Nation's sovereignty and providing another example of the "check-the-box" mentality of so many companies and agencies. One quote that really resonated with me: Some say FERC could change that internal rule, since it isn’t required by law. “For them to cite their own regulations and be like, ‘Our hands are tied,’ is ridiculous,” Anter said.? #highcountrynews #energyequity
