In personal injury and workers' compensation cases many of the psych reports submitted to the courts are substantially flawed. They arrive at completely incorrect and untenable conclusions. However, when presented to a judge, jury or the opposing attorney they sound credible. Unfortunately, only another psychologists, neuropsychologists or psychiatrists can successfully detect the problems. Attorneys can't typically do that without extensive training since they're experts in the law, not psychology. That's where I come in. I write Apricots™. An Apricot™ is a written critique of an expert's report with a list of questions to ask during a Cx. I absolutely love my work. Current Mood: CELEBRATING! Three years ago, I spent Thanksgiving weekend in a pool in Cabo San Lucas contemplating my next chapter in work and life. Prior to that, I had been employed for 21 years (my only full-time job) by Westwood Evaluation & Treatment Center (WETC) owned by Dr. Bruce Leckart, a psychologist, absorbing an abundance of knowledge. With his retirement, I narrowed my decision to go full-time into teaching at the college level East Los Angeles College where I was adjunct faculty, or to open my own psychology consulting practice. I chose the latter. My son (age 15 at the time) and I were driving to Las Vegas for his travel baseball tournament and spent hours brainstorming a business name. Together, we landed on Good Mood Legal. The rest is history. Cheers to three years, an amazing team at Good Mood Legal, wonderful friends in the industry, and exciting work helping attorneys, adjusters and risk professionals with understanding psych reports and cross-examining psych doctors!
