"It is literally impossible to be a woman." That was the opening line to America Ferrera's monologue in the Barbie movie, and one year later, it still resonates with me. From the day women are born, we're expected to be exceptional at everything we do. And it's nothing short of exhausting. Yet you wanna know the funny thing? Even though it's an impossible task, we still. Freaking. Crush it! If you need any proof, just look at a woman like Taylor Swift. (That's right, I'm a Swiftie, loud and proud!) I still remember when Kanye stole the mic from her when she was just 19 years old. If that had been me at that age, I honestly would've just crawled into a hole and died. But she didn't, y'all. Somehow she found the strength to rise above and went on to become one of the most successful music artists of all time—all while maintaining an insane level of poise. Bad. Ass! And she's not the only one. So many women in my life and within dentistry, like Anne Duffy, Joanna Scott, Sharon Parsons, Laura Schwindt, Laura Brennan, Lani Grass, have continued to accomplish incredible things, no matter what obstacles are thrown in their way. They inspire me to keep reaching for the stars and make me damn proud to be a woman today and every day. Who are your women role models? I'd love to know!

Happy National Dentist's Day! My audience may have grown over the years, but dentists will always be at the core. That's because, without you guys, my mission to #GiveTeethAChance wouldn't have a prayer. Tens of thousands of people need root canals every single day, and yet there are less than 6,000 endodontists in the whole country. The math ain't mathing! To make sure patients are getting the care they need, we endodontists rely on dentists like you to step up and help us get the job done. In other words… We'd be lost without ya! It's Dental Assistant Recognition Week! This week, I'd like to recognize the crucial role dental assistants and hygienists have in the world of dentistry. We dentists and specialists simply could not do our jobs properly without them!
