When?Humanity Showers?founder Jordan Verdin began documenting the stories of unhoused people through portraiture, he identified two critical needs: people need to be seen, and people need to be clean. He then created Humanity Showers — a mobile shower project that provides more than 2,000 free showers (stocked with Dr. Bronner’s) every month for people experiencing homelessness in San Diego, Orange & Los Angeles counties. “We believe that every person deserves access to a shower and dignity, no matter what," Jordan says. Humanity Showers also teams up with grassroots organizations to provide food & water, clothing (socks are always needed), hygiene services, haircuts, and other essential items. Furthermore, once a month, they partner with the District Attorney at pop-up events to provide legal assistance, case management, and health education to help remove barriers to housing. We’re moved & proud to support Humanity Showers, and we hope you feel inspired to support this nonprofit, help challenge & dissolve inhumane stereotypes about homelessness, and show up for people who need you in YOUR community.
