  • Read DPI’s recent contribution in Australia's Paydirt, thanks to Paydirt Media Pty Ltd. Executive Director Florence Drummond discusses the changing yet exciting landscape of the mining industry in Africa, after DPI’s recent Mining Innovation and Research Battlefield (MIRB), held at Mining Indaba. The 2025 MIRB demonstrated a real shift towards genuine development partnership as researchers, technology innovators and industry experts came together to pitch ground breaking ideas for sustainable tailings management. Available to read on page 40 of this month’s edition of Australia's Paydirt, Florence discusses the work that is in motion and the evolving minerals chain, while continuing to forecast the need for better partnerships and innovative leadership. https://lnkd.in/g4hAV-Vn (page 40) ?? Increasingly, companies in critical mineral supply chains are realizing the advantages of integrating Indigenous values and leadership into their operations, and when First Nations are key decision-makers in development and natural resource management, they outperform external decision-makers. As Peter Bryant, Board Chair and Co-Founder of the Development Partner Institute, emphasized during the #FNMPC2024 conference, there is an opportunity to explore how mining projects can evolve as a community development engine and creating local prosperity that is led by the impacted Indigenous nations. Continuing this conversation at the upcoming 8th Annual FNMPC Conference, experts will explore how these benefits attributed to Indigenous nations are playing a key role in shaping mining projects and foreign investments as the global mining landscape adapts to new market demands. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to be part of this conversation. Register now: fnmpc.ca/conference

  • Our LinkedIn feeds are full of women doing amazing things for International Women’s Day - and here’s one more post to add to that! As a non-profit in the mining industry, DPI works in an unquestionably male-dominated environment. But the women of DPI are pushing the boundaries of innovation, championing the next generation of the mining industry, and shining a light on development partnership and how it changes the game for the industry. From our all-female team that recently hosted the Mining Innovation and Research Battlefield to our female winners of the Battlefield - we salute the other women of the mining industry who #AccelerateAction for equality and safety. #IWD2025 ??
