That’s why we’re excited to share that DPGA member, Inter-American Development Bank, has published a new technical note on improving open-source procurement. This resource, which includes a number of case studies, supports the adoption of open-source solutions within IDB operations and strengthens #DigitalPublicGoods implementation throughout the procurement process. It’s a very powerful synthesising phrase that relates directly to #TheTechWeWant vision that we’ve been developing at the Open Knowledge Foundation. If put into practice, it could contribute to our collective efforts to organise an alternative stack of technologies that are more useful, simpler, more durable and focused on solving people’s real problems. At this year’s Annual Members Meeting of the Digital Public Goods Alliance (DPGA), the Office of the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology collaborated with members of the Open Source ecosystem to explore how the Global Digital Compact (GDC) can drive progress on Digital Public Goods and Digital Public Infrastructure. Workshops co-organized with UNDP, Co-Develop, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) delved into key topics: ?? How to endorse the GDC and align activities with its priorities ?? How to engage with DPI Safeguards moving forward ?? This week we went to Singapore for the Digital Public Goods Alliance Annual Members Meeting where Anna Tumadottir and Cable Green, PhD presented "Fully Open Public Interest AI with Open Data" alongside Patricio Del Boca, Fabro Steibel, and Alek Tarkowski.
