Why is it important for governments to share digital innovations, rather than operate in silos?
At the Digital Public Goods Alliance (DPGA) Annual Members' Meeting, I spoke about how the most pressing challenges of our time—such as #cybersecurity, climate change, and #AI governance—often require coordinated action across countries.
Many of these issues can be more effectively addressed through technology. By taking an inclusive approach to solving these emerging challenges, we can make greater progress as ONE global community —where technology initiatives build on one another, duplication is minimized, and resources are focused on tackling new and yet unresolved problems.
To this end, Singapore shares open-source digital tools we have developed, such as FormSG, a no-code form builder that government agencies can use to create forms with a few clicks; and Isomer, a no-code website builder that allows agencies to set up websites quickly, securely, and at low cost. These tools have been instrumental to enhancing public service efficiency, and we’re pleased to make them open-source so governments worldwide can adapt and deploy them to meet their needs. We’re happy to see that countries like Cambodia and Sri Lanka have already begun deploying some of these tools.
Singapore will continue to build bridges in support of the Global Digital Compact. This inclusive approach is central to our refreshed Smart Nation vision (SN2.0), and enables us to grow as one global community.
