The hottest trend on LinkedIn this August: #AthleteNerds ???? (They're taking over the platform!) Forget about the usual clickbait, client dinner updates, and endless memes. It's the nerds—those who are or were athletes—who are now dominating the business scene here on LinkedIn. It's absolutely incredible, and I love it! Special shoutouts to these amazing Athlete Nerds: Joanna Lohman Johnny Stanton IV Ada Yu James Raybould Alexa Cardoso Bronson Kaufusi And so many more... Here's to the #AthleteNerds changing the game. Let's celebrate them for bringing the discipline of athletics and the insight of nerds to LinkedIn. #dreambig #dowork #havefun

Friday Confession: I am a huge nerd. I was a 4-time Academic All-American at Penn State who majored in business, minored in math, and graduated with a 3.98 GPA. I am even nerdier now as I build mathematical formulas in my speeches. And so when I read this article by Sally Jenkins, I felt seen. Her words jumped off the page, captivating my brain and gripping my heart. "The disciplined math of training, the seeking of infinitesimal fractions of difference, is what separates the highest performers. In other words, their geekdom." "So many of us, normal people, stroll through the world hoping to project nonchalance because we suppose it means effortlessness — when, really, it’s a kind of abdication. That way, we never really have to lose at anything. Geekdom ‘comes with friction,’...It means rejection — a decision not to do what everyone else is doing." Where my geeks at?!!! ????♀????? Here is to a weekend nerding out on what lights you up!!!! ?? Full article: https://lnkd.in/ejMdDGmz #mathlete #geekdom #highperformance #athletesonlinkedin #linkedinsports

Follow Friday is all about the legend: Brett Hundley. Brett put in 8-years as an National Football League (NFL) QB and now is a passionate entrepreneur, investor, and founder of the Hundley Foundation. Prior to that, Brett was the linchpin to a new era in UCLA football, bringing the Bruins from irrelevancy to the cusp of greatness. Brett is clearly not sitting in an office figuring it out, in addition to his success on the playing field and in the business arena, his adventures include travel to 40+ countries as a photographer fueling his worldview and enriching his commitment to making a meaningful impact. Give this man a follow here Brett Hundley you will be glad you did. Much respect and love BH. #dreambig #dowork #linkedinsports

Female athletes are the most effective influencers, says Fortune, and a great summary from Leela Srinivasan The #dowork crew recommends following Kirby Porter Leela Srinivasan and Joanna Lohman who are leading the charge here on LinkedIn. #linkedinsports
Today Emma Hinchliffe of Fortune exclusively covered the results of our brand new study in partnership with SurveyMonkey. Her headline says it all: female athletes ARE the most effective influencers. In surveying >14,000 consumers across 7 countries on who's watching women's sports, why, and what they think of women athletes, the evidence is clear: women's sports isn't just having a moment -- it's mainstream. 3 stats to illustrate the point: 1?? 73% of people watch women’s sports at least a few times a year, and a higher percentage of men watch women’s sports frequently than women. Fun fact: Australian men lead the way!????? 2?? Women’s sports fans are 2.8 times more likely to purchase a product recommended by a female athlete than by another type of influencer. This multiplier effect is highest among Germans, who are almost 5x more likely.????? 3?? 32% of women's sports fans are more likely to purchase from a brand that supports women's sports or partners with women athletes. That rises to 44% of U.S.?female fans of women's sports.??? ??♀? ?? Thank you Emma for shining a light on this mainstream cultural shift. I've included a link to the full report and some other fun reads in the comments. #sportsmarketing #sportsbiz #womenssports #influencermarketing
