Ending women's homelessness in greater Los Angeles through housing, wellness, employment, and advocacy.
关于我们
The Downtown Women’s Center (DWC) is the only organization in Los Angeles focused exclusively on serving and empowering women experiencing homelessness and formerly homeless women. We envision a Los Angeles with every woman housed and on a path to personal stability. Our mission is to end homelessness for women in greater Los Angeles through housing, wellness, employment, and advocacy. Founded in 1978, DWC was the first permanent supportive housing provider for women in the U.S. #EveryWomanHoused

Thank you, UCLA MHA students! ?? ?? We are so grateful to the UCLA MHA program for assembling toiletry and clean home kits to support the women and gender-diverse individuals we serve at DWC. As the only organization in Los Angeles dedicated exclusively to empowering women and gender-diverse individuals experiencing homelessness, access to essential hygiene and cleaning supplies makes a tremendous difference in our community. Through their participation, MHA students not only contributed valuable resources but also deepened their understanding of the urgent need for safe, stable housing. As MHA student Jessica Graziano shared, "Taking part in this initiative opened the door to learning more about the incredible work DWC does. I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute, even in a small way, and to spread awareness of their impact." Thank you to the UCLA MHA program for your generosity and commitment to service! #UCLAExecHPM #CommunitySupport #DWC #EndHomelessness

Investing in employment means investing in real solutions! Through our LA:RISE program, we’re creating pathways to stability—helping women and gender-diverse individuals gain employment, build skills, and achieve economic independence. Why It Matters: ? Jobs provide long-term stability and housing security ? LA:RISE strengthens businesses, communities, and the local economy ? Everyone deserves the tools, resources, and support needed to thrive Programs like LA:RISE open doors to opportunity, stability, and success. A huge thank you to our City and County leaders for driving meaningful change across Los Angeles! #DWC #LARISE
