Our Mission: To create a healthy, vibrant downtown for all
关于我们
Established in 1958, the Downtown Seattle Association (DSA) is a nonprofit membership organization whose mission is to create a healthy, vibrant downtown for all. With the support of our corporate, nonprofit and residential members, we work to keep downtown economically competitive, address transportation challenges and ensure a safe, clean and inviting urban experience for workers, residents and visitors. DSA founded the Metropolitan Improvement District (MID), a 300-square-block business improvement district in downtown. With funding from MID ratepayers, we employ more than 150 ambassadors who provide cleaning, safety, concierge and outreach services throughout downtown. In partnership with city and county agencies, DSA also founded Commute Seattle, a transportation management agency that provides commuting resources for workers and businesses. We’re excited to announce the launch of PS, I Love You, a program that will provide direct financial support to small, current businesses in Pioneer Square following an investment by a private donor. These funds will help businesses stabilize and grow in a challenging economic climate. Eligible businesses can apply under two distinct funding categories: Stabilization Fund – For unexpected expenses, rent, payroll, operational costs, or other financial support to keep the business running in Pioneer Square. Large Equipment Fund – For purchasing or replacing equipment that enhances business capacity and long-term sustainability. Tomorrow, Feb. 11 is a special election day in King County. DSA recommends voting yes on Seattle Proposition 1B. Prop 1B dedicates $10 million annually from existing payroll tax revenues for a five-year social housing pilot with oversight from the city’s Office of Housing. Unlike Prop 1A, which imposes a 5% payroll tax on large businesses, Prop 1B supports affordable housing while protecting downtown's competitiveness.? This sensible approach avoids adding new taxes and ensures accountability. #DowntownSeattle #SeattleProposition1B #KingCountyElections
