  • Help us spread the word! As of August 1st, our dispatch number has changed. If you're located within the Downtown Portland Clean & Safe District and need help with a non-emergency issue outside of your building, call our new number at 503-388-3888. Our security officers can help with disorderly behavior, aggressive panhandling, public drinking, individuals sleeping in doorways or blocking access, or can provide advice on a security issue. For cleaning services, our cleaning crews can help with cleaning the sidewalk, removing graffiti on the building walls facing the street, and picking up needles or other bio-hazards. For help with an emergency, please call 9-1-1.

But most of all, reimagining the park as a place to be – rather than just visit – will foster the urban neighborhood spirit necessary to spark the development of thousands of housing units." • Earlier this week, our Operations Director, Steve Wytcherley, alongside board member Steven Lien and Portland Parks & Recreation, presented plans for the redevelopment of Darcelle XV Plaza to the city’s Arts and Economy Committee. This future space will honor Darcelle’s legacy while creating a vibrant, daily-use event plaza for the LGBT+ community and beyond. "We are confident it's going to bring foot traffic downtown, help local businesses, and people are going to want to come," said Steve Wytcherley in an interview with the Portland Business Journal. "It's an honorarium, a memorial, and a place to celebrate Darcelle's memory every day." Read the article ?? https://bit.ly/4iPMpag Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project!

  • Andrew Hoan with the Portland Metro Chamber told the committee a new stadium “would ignite a boom in Oregon’s living room … that will be felt for many years to come and in fact generations. It’s time to think about going on a completely different course. This is not small ball. This is a big league swing for the fences and I think it’s time to take that hit.” Read the article ?? https://bit.ly/4bvsDyC

  • Every year, we invite downtown businesses to share their perspectives on our community—what’s working, what’s not, and where we can improve. From cleanliness and livability to business growth and development, their feedback helps shape the future of Portland. The 2024 Business Survey shows real progress: ? Less crime ? Fewer operational disruptions ? Growing confidence in key services There’s still work to do, but thanks to the collective efforts of DPCS, local stakeholders, and city partners, downtown is becoming safer and more welcoming every day.
