"There’s so much more this park could provide to Portlanders: a play space for families, pickleball courts, riverside chessboards, a coffee stand, a beer garden, a lively place to eat. But most of all, reimagining the park as a place to be – rather than just visit – will foster the urban neighborhood spirit necessary to spark the development of thousands of housing units." Earlier this week, our Operations Director, Steve Wytcherley, alongside board member Steven Lien and Portland Parks & Recreation, presented plans for the redevelopment of Darcelle XV Plaza to the city’s Arts and Economy Committee. This future space will honor Darcelle’s legacy while creating a vibrant, daily-use event plaza for the LGBT+ community and beyond. "We are confident it's going to bring foot traffic downtown, help local businesses, and people are going to want to come," said Steve Wytcherley in an interview with the Portland Business Journal. "It's an honorarium, a memorial, and a place to celebrate Darcelle's memory every day." Read the article ?? https://bit.ly/4iPMpag Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project!

Andrew Hoan with the Portland Metro Chamber told the committee a new stadium “would ignite a boom in Oregon’s living room … that will be felt for many years to come and in fact generations. It’s time to think about going on a completely different course. This is not small ball. This is a big league swing for the fences and I think it’s time to take that hit.” Read the article ?? https://bit.ly/4bvsDyC
