DOWNTOWN ST. LOUIS REVITALIZATION: FRANK AND JILL SHOW ON KTRS Frank Cusumano and Jill Farmer at Big 550 KTRS recently invited me to join them on their "Frank and Jill Show" to discuss downtown St. Louis and related issues. In our wide ranging 15-minute interview, we discussed the Downtown North Insight District, The Post Building, The Globe Building, NGA's new $1.75-billion HQ (which will be home to 3,100 employees), NGA's Moon Shot Labs at the T-Rex Incubator, and the new Community Improvement District (CID) for the northern portion of the central business district. (Link attached) The District has already attracted FinTech, Geospatial, and MedTech national and international firms such as Square, BLOCK, Esri, MAXAR, General Dynamics, BAE Systems, T-Kartor-USA, Westway Services, and Stereotaxis. In the interview, we also discussed how our current efforts in the evolving Downtown North District build on previous experiences at RCGA working with Dr. Bill Danforth and the Danforth Foundation on CORTEX as part of the Plant & Life Sciences Strategy which we jointly developed with Battelle back in 2002. We're excited to announce that the National Tribal Geographic Information Support Center (NTGISC), also known as "Tribal GIS?," has officially established their satellite office at T-REX! Tribal GIS is a #nonprofit organization whose membership represents nearly four hundred federally recognized Tribal governments. They provide #geospatial information systems (#GIS), technical assistance and support to Tribal governments. Additionally, NTGISC is a resource and #advocate for Tribal #data sovereignty and governance. This move by Tribal GIS continues to assert #StLouis as the world’s “Geospatial Hub” and furthers T-REX’s commitment to foster #innovation, growth, and #diversity in the geospatial industry.
