Downtown Greensboro Incorporated (DGI) is an economic development organization focused on stimulating investment and activity in the center city. DGI is a non-profit entity and is led by a 24-member Board of Directors composed of volunteers representing specific stakeholders in the center city. Downtown Greensboro Incorporated has three standing committees that provide an additional voice for interested stakeholders. The committees include Economic Development, Fundraising, Events and Entertainment. Downtown business owners, property owners, workers, residents or funding partners may participate on a committee. DGI also manages the Municipal Service District (or Business Improvement District) for Downtown and has a subsidiary Downtown Greensboro Foundation designated as a 501c3 organization for charitable and educational purposes. DGI was formed in 1997. The geographic area it serves is generally Fisher Avenue to the north, Spring Street to the west, Gate City Blvd to the south and Murrow Boulevard to the east.

  • Exciting News from Downtown Greensboro!?? Downtown Greensboro, Inc. is proud to announce the recipients of the first and second rounds of the Vibrancy Grant Program. Recognizing the need for small business support, DGI matched the initial investment of $25,000 by Duke Energy Foundation for a total of $50,000 to assist a total of 20 downtown business improvements of storefronts, expanded services, and grow their overall impact. Brenner Children’s Museum Moore Music Scuppernong Books Second Round Winners: Martin Frame and Art Krave Kava Bar Savor the Moment Cafe 13 Jacob Raymond Vintage to Vogue Plants & Answers Chez Genese Dame’s Chicken & Waffles Flat Iron With 20 businesses now supported, the Vibrancy Grant Program has doubled its original impact, boosting downtown Greensboro’s growth, innovation, and visual appeal. Celebrate the season at Festival of Lights on Friday, December 6th, part of Downtown Greensboro’s Downtown in December festivities presented by Allegacy Federal Credit Union! Start at 5 PM in LeBauer Park with ice skating and a festive vendor market, then head to Center City Park for: ?? 5:30 PM: Carolers ?? 6:30 PM: Sing-along ?? 6:56 PM: Community Tree lighting ?? Afterward, stroll Elm Street for live performances, festive characters, and a DJ Dance Party in Hamburger Square—don’t forget to bring a toy for Toys for Tots! ? Enjoy snow, marshmallow roasting, family-friendly activities, and Santa photos. Wrap up the night with a South End light show and meet Disney Princesses! Downtown shops, restaurants, and food trucks will keep the holiday spirit going all evening!
