Downtown New Orleans will receive a special makeover this Spring, as Canal Street revitalization organization Celebrate Canal Coalition prepares to launch its debut “Windows on Canal” public art series. This inaugural series, presented in partnership with Where y'Art Works, is set to transform the iconic Downtown thoroughfare by showcasing chosen businesses as vibrant outdoor galleries similar to porch floats built for Mardi Gras. Read all about this special public project and the impact it will make on the Canal Street Corridor in the weekly DDD newsletter, linked here: https://bit.ly/3XnAas6. 关于我们
With an array of economic development programs and beautification services to go with its "feet on the street" enhanced public safety system, the Downtown Development District has been a key player in moving Downtown New Orleans forward.. The DDD was created by the Louisiana Legislature in 1974 as the nation's first assessment-based business improvement district. Funding comes from a property assessment in the Downtown area, which is further leveraged with state and federal dollars, sponsorships and fund-raising activities. The DDD is governed by an 11-member board of commissioners that guides its policies and programs. The future holds great promise for Downtown, and the DDD is here to help developers build their Downtown investments - from the ground up! The DDD drives the development of Downtown New Orleans and is a catalyst for a prosperous, stimulating and innovative heart of the Crescent City.

Mardi Gras is officially in full swing in #DowntownNOLA, and DDD Operations Teams are hard at work ensuring a clean, safe, and memorable celebration for all. Beginning today, DDD will add temporary staff to its dedicated Clean Team to monitor and sanitize the parade route at the end of each day. Our Public Safety Team will be busy as well, coordinating with NOPD’s 8th District and other law enforcement agencies to provide the most complete coverage of Downtown possible. DDD Public Safety Rangers will also be on the streets, leaning into their hospitality training to assist visitors with directions, recommendations, and helpful local tips. NOPD and private security patrol officers will be on duty 24/7 and available at 504-415-1730 for assistance. Stay safe and have fun, y’all; see you out there for Mardi Gras 2025! #DowntownNOLA #DDD #DDDEvents #MardiGras #KeepNOLAClean #KeepNOLASafe

We thank our partners at Greater New Orleans, Inc. – GNO, Inc., BioDistrict New Orleans, and Entergy for their support and collaboration on these now-complete initiatives.
