On Tuesday, we welcomed 800+ Downtown stakeholders to the Omni Dallas Hotel for our 2025 Annual Meeting, presented by Amplify Dallas Architects. The energy in the room was a testament to the incredible progress happening across Downtown—beautifully captured in Amplify's opening video on the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas transformation and its role in shaping our city’s future. We were proud to present Craig Hall & Ambassador Kathryn Walt Hall with DDI’s Groundbreaker Award for their lasting impact on Downtown through HALL Group’s innovative developments and civic leadership. Our panel discussion featured insights from Visit Dallas CEO Craig Davis, CDME, Convention & Event Services Director Rosa Clipper Fleming, and Perkins&Will Design Director Ron Stelmarski, FAIA, highlighting the massive KBHCC transformation and the opportunities it will create along Downtown’s southern edge. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to this impactful event. Your engagement is key as we work together to drive Downtown forward! #DowntownDallas #DDIAnnualMeeting #EconomicGrowth #myDTD #DallasFuture

DDI, alongside CBRE, The Retail Coach, and Labora, hosted a dynamic happy hour in the stunning former Bullion space, bringing together 150+ brokers and retailers during ICSC @ Red River. With 4,000+ attendees in town, this event was the perfect opportunity to highlight Downtown’s retail and development potential. Monica Paul, Executive Director of the Dallas Sports Commission, shared insights on the economic impact of youth sports and conventions—plus an exciting preview of FIFA Dallas 2026. Wonderful time today at the 2025 Downtown Dallas, Inc. Annual Meeting & luncheon. As always, special thanks to my good friend Rhett Taylor and D CEO for hosting us at their table. So great visiting with Robert Gardner, Ira Bowman, Thomas Blyzes, CPA and Peyton Lynn, running into my fellow Lead YP alum Jeremy Kutscherousky and waving from afar to Nick Marino Jr.! Insightful to learn about the development happening in Downtown Dallas and the economic vibrancy, growth and projects that have been thoughtfully planned, designed and executed to meet the needs of Downtown and its stakeholders. Shoutout to Craig and Kathryn Hall of The HALL Group on their incredible accomplishments and being recognized with the "Groundbreaker Award." ...and who doesn't love HALL Family Wines?! 🍷 Thank you, Downtown Dallas, Inc. for elevating the quality of life for residents, workers and visitors!

Last week, a few of my Downtown Dallas, Inc. colleagues and I spent a day in Austin meeting with state legislators from across the state as part of the Dallas Regional Chamber's Austin “Fly-In” day. Our team participated in more than 20 meetings organized by legislative priority areas, including economic development and incentive programs, public safety, and education and workforce development. There was good bipartisan traction on solutions for improved mental and behavioral health resources. Funding proposals for incentive programs and economic development were also very well received. The larger delegation included DDI member companies such as Bank of America, Hillwood, AECOM, and Arcosa Inc., as well as several Dallas City Council members and DISD trustees. It was rewarding to work together advocating on the issues most important to Dallas and North Texas.

Celebrating 50 Years of Service with The Stewpot! Last week, DDI board members and staff attended The Stewpot’s 17th Annual Soup’s On Luncheon at Thompson Dallas, honoring five decades of impact in Downtown Dallas. Since 1975, The Stewpot has served 8.7M+ meals and provided vital resources like IDs, scholarships, and housing assistance to those in need. The event featured Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nicholas Kristof and the debut of Thy Neighbor, a collection of stories and artwork from individuals navigating homelessness and housing transitions. With its expanded South Dallas campus, The Stewpot is poised to make an even greater impact in the years ahead. Here’s to their 50 years of dignity, hope, and service! https://lnkd.in/gSsbvnPh

Earlier in January, we shared our vision and impact with the Dallas College’s El Centro Campus faculty, hosted by DDI Board Member Dr. Brad Williams. We highlighted Downtown’s transformation, key developments like the Convention Center redevelopment, and ways faculty can stay engaged. Our Field Teams’ impact in 2024 was a major focus—43,000+ quality-of-life issues addressed and 100,000+ service reports generated. Educational partnerships like this are key to Downtown’s continued growth and a stronger, more connected workforce.
