关于我们
The Downtown Boston Business Improvement District Corp. is a private nonprofit created and funded by property and business owners committed to revitalizing this historic and treasured neighborhood. We serve the Theater District, Ladder District, Downtown Crossing, and the Financial District through programs and supplemental services to create a clean, welcoming, and vibrant downtown. The Downtown Boston Business Improvement District is Boston’s first BID and one of only six in Massachusetts. A binding assessment levied on all commercial property owners based on property value funds BID activities. A 33-member board of directors elected by BID members oversees the organization. This board represents the cross-section of Boston’s business and residential communities found in the district and is responsive to property owners, retailers and residents. It participates in the management, programming and budget decisions, which are implemented by a full-time staff that manages daily operations. The BID continually works to significantly improve the experience of all who live, work, visit, go to school or shop in the Downtown Boston area by: ? Providing supplemental services to keep the streets and sidewalks clean, upgrade the aesthetic appearance of the district, and make people feel welcomed and safe ? Promoting and fostering an energetic and thriving business climate in the area ? Serving as the voice and advocate for the district.

Our team had the pleasure of connecting with organizations that are shaping cities across the country at the International Downtown Association Annual Conference & Marketplace hosted by Downtown Seattle Association. We shared the successes and ideas emerging from Downtown Boston while hearing from leaders that are making impactful strides within their communities. The information sharing and thoughtful conversations provided innovative ideas and solutions for our neighborhood to explore.
The Downtown Boston team had a terrific trip to Seattle this past week for the International Downtown Association the 70th annual Conference & Marketplace, hosted by Jon Scholes & the Downtown Seattle Association. The city had much to offer and I also enjoyed a visit to Tacoma during the week. I'll also remember the week for being elected to IDA's Board of Directors to support David Downey, CAE, IOM and his terrific team in stewarding IDA's forward momentum. I took in great panels that featured Emily Baime Michaels, Puneeta McBryan, Dougan Sherwood, Kate Borders, Tracy Sayegh Gabriel, Emeka Moneme, Malaika Scriven, Joe Spencer, and more. It was great to again collaborate with EXMURO art public, Denis Bergeron, and Michelle Drapeau in presenting a panel on "Temporary Public Art in Downtown Cities & Public Spaces." And it was a rich opportunity to connect with my teammates - Kelsey Pramik, Sean Webster, George C., Samantha Brien, MPA, Thomas Ball, and Andrew Grace while reconnecting with numerous others - Jordan Polon, Kathleen Rawson, LPM, Christian Martin, Judith Veresuk, Kate Robinson, Leasa Gibbons, Maura Brophy, Sara Stasiuk, CPA, CMA, Suzanne Holley, Beth Weirick, Lul Teklit, Jason Ilstrup, Sarah Liza Hornung, Philip Barash, Dillon Goodson, Nicolas Synnott, Carolyn Dellutri, CAE, CMSM, CTP, and yet still others I'm sure! I can't wait to see what Gerren Price and his team at DowntownDC BID have in store for us next year!
