This year, rural working class voters of all races showed the entire country just how powerful they can be. We are thankful.

When you vote in person, there are skilled volunteers who help make sure you have the information you need to cast your vote. Ballot curing is a standard democratic process in place to make sure that people who have had to submit a mail-in ballot have the same kind of support. The NC Board of Elections works with multi-party teams to follow up with voters to make sure their ballot doesn't get thrown away for something simple like putting a signature in the wrong place. Rural working-class people of all races deserve to have their votes counted. They deserve to have their voices represented by the candidates that they elect to do so. Thats why the Down Home NC field team jumped into action to cure ballots without missing a beat the day after their electoral work wrapped. Although many organizations participated in this process, we want to lift up the incredible work our team did to cure almost half of all of the ballots in the state. Because of their dedication and persistence, the majority support for member endorsed candidates Bryan Cohn, Terence Everitt, Dante Pittman, and Allison Riggs was upheld. The elections may be over, but we're not going anywhere. We're going to continue our work building rural working class power for people of all races. This election saw a movement of public education supporters like never before, due in large part to the efforts of the Public School Strong Voters coaltion. This team completed more than 80,000 phone calls; canvassed more than 11,000 doors; conducted 18 site canvasses; and worked to mobilize voters across 22 counties for more than 85 endorsed candidates. Overall, they helped usher in 43 candidates who have signed on to the Public School Strong pledge to fight for the schools that all of our children deserve.
