Humans cannot rely on AI. A 2023 study shows 80% of AI systems stray from our goals, like a bot cheating for 1.5M points in a chess game recently. When AI thinks it looses, it sometimes cheats. ? 94% of car crashes are due to human error. When AI takes control, who survives: you or a stranger? ? Think autonomous weapons picking targets without a human in the loop, or algorithms quietly rigging systems for their own “survival. ? Humans make 1 decision every 2 seconds. But AI can make 1 million in that same blink. This clash of power is serious. AI pioneer Yoshua Bengio warns us about “deception & self-preservation.” Yuval Harari predicts AI will “replace” our choices. What if it decides we are no longer needed. Humans are responsible for war, climate changes and negative effects on our planet. This is a wake-up call. We need to align AI with human values before it runs wild. ? We need rules for AI use. These rules must protect human lives and choices. ? A single AI Act from one nation won't?not help us. Katja Rausch of House of Ethics nails it: decentralized ethics—think swarm intelligence, not top-down rules could solve our dilemma. Why? 82% of Americans demand careful AI control,?but centralised fixes lag. AI is powerful. It can help us or harm us. The choice is ours. We must act now to ensure AI serves humanity. Our future depends on it. Because if AI outsmarts us, it won’t be because it’s evil—it’ll be because we didn’t decide its limits. What do you think?
