Doula Alchemist Healing is a Black, Queer and Non-Binary owned culturally grounded healing practice. My inspiration comes from my mother’s birthing narrative and having witnessed her navigate reproductive healthcare as a fiercely resilient single, Black mother. This practice is also profoundly inspired by the many contributions of the Black and Indigenous Grand Midwives, doulas, and traditional healers who persisted through enslavement, racism, and erasure to serve as a network of healers and spiritual leaders for their own communities and the larger society. In addition to being evidence-based, trauma-informed, and healing-centered, my services draw from traditional themes of African-American healing including reproductive care work, community herbalism, and divination. Doula Alchemist Healing offers in-clinic abortion doula services, medication abortion doula services, birth doula services, postpartum doula services, and spiritual life coaching. The practice is based in New York City, New York and services are also offered virtually.
