Liz Oakley, EVP of Affordable Development at Douglaston, will be honored by Bisnow at their New York Power Women event as an innovator in the industry. We congratulate Liz on this recognition of her incredible work leading the team and developing affordable housing throughout New York City.

At last week's "Only Brooklyn" real estate conference, CEO Jed Resnick joined a panel of Brooklyn developers to discuss the future of development in the borough. Their conversation covered topics from the growing Brooklyn population, to how city and state legislation will affect future development, and where their own projects fit into the story. Life Meets Art at 3Eleven. In today's issue, The The New York Times examines a new trend that places original works of art at the forefront of the resident experience. On the leading edge, Douglaston Development curated a permanent collection of original and commissioned works by local New York artists at 3Eleven.

The Stanley Avenue Preservation team and Penn-Wortman Community Center operator, CAMBA, have partnered with the Public Housing Community Fund and the Salvadori Center to bring local middle school students the opportunity to learn about STEM careers and contribute to their built environment. Through the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) STEAM Innovators: Building Dreams, Designing Futures Program, CAMBA’s middle school-aged participants will spend several weeks workshopping designs to transform a space at the Penn-Wortman Community Center. Salvadori’s trained educators lead planning sessions, lessons, and engage the participants in creating plans for the space that will be realized with the support of the Public Housing Community Fund and Stanley Avenue Preservation.??

Back to the Bronx! Douglaston Development is thrilled to share the closing of Phase II of our Bedford Park affordable housing project at 2868 Webster Avenue. Building on the success of Phase I, which included 188 units of senior affordable housing, Phase II will deliver 277 units of multifamily housing. The development will also include social services provided by The Jericho Project, supportive housing units, resident amenities, and additional retail space for the existing neighborhood grocer, enhancing local access to fresh food. We are honored to continue our partnerships with the New York Botanical Garden, NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development, and New York City Housing Development Corporation as we work to bring affordable housing to the Bronx.
