Gigi, who is a certified therapy dog, visited our office this week! She stopped by to help us as we work to seek justice for Douglas County. Gigi is a calming presence for victims when we meet with them to discuss cases, and we are thankful to have her as a resource for our office. Plus, our employees enjoy her visits too! We are deeply thankful for this incredible community we have the privilege to serve. We hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Our office and the Douglas County Courthouse will be closed on Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. We will resume normal business hours on Monday, December 2.

Today, several members of our office had the opportunity to volunteer with The Elf Squad and Operation Christmas to help sort toys for their upcoming gift distribution. We are truly grateful for the incredible work that Judge McClain and his organization does for so many children within our community.

This week District Attorney Dalia Racine, alongside ATIR Board Member Wanda Banks, presented checks to SHAREHouse, The Trinity Center, JC Freedom House, and The ATIR Community with funds raised at this year’s Trek or Treat 5k Justice Run. This annual event promotes wellness and community spirit while raising money for local domestic violence service providers and awareness programs. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who donated and participated in the race. Additionally, a special thanks goes out to our sponsors: Talitrix, NICE, Gable’s Sporting Goods, Best Bonding, and 2OneLife Fitness, New Georgia Baseball, and Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #35. Today our office was recognized as one of Elevate Douglas’ 2024 Workforce Partners. Our PACE Unit, which oversees our diversion programs and accountability courts works closely with Elevate Douglas to help participants become workplace ready. We are grateful for the community partnerships that make this important work possible.

This weekend our office participated in the second annual Youth Fest at the Douglas County Courthouse. This event provided community resources to our community, free food, and games were available for the community to enjoy!
