As Black History Month comes to a close, we want to share this hard-hitting podcast that covers the history of healthcare for African Americans, which as it turns out is really the history of our country's healthcare system as a whole. From Rebecca Lee Crumpler, the first African American woman to become a doctor to black doctors coming out in support of Medicare's creation and the government's use of Medicare funds to incentivize desegregation in hospitals, it's as much a story of black resilience and trailblazing as it is a reckoning with the legacy of slavery.
