The Douglas County Community Foundation of Colorado provides community support for emergency needs when it matters most. We serve as a catalyst to: -Champion awareness of the needs of citizens of Douglas County -Inspire generous and thoughtful philanthropic action -Support non-profit organizations serving Douglas County The Douglas County Community Foundation provides: -Individuals and groups with a vision, an effective approach to implement and achieve their unique philanthropic and charitable goals. -A personalized and simplified approach to giving with a variety of DCCF Board approved funds to choose from with administrative services and fund management. -Partnership with the most effective organizations to create change. -The power and flexibility in charitable giving and philanthropic action by alleviating the legal paperwork, time, and expense associated with establishing a private foundation. -Expertise in setting up a fund to maximize tax advantages that make a lasting impact on the community.

Colorado Gives Day takes place in December every year, highlighting the importance of giving locally. You may know the name Kendrick Castillo and remember his sacrifice. The high school senior lost his life to save fellow students amid a school shooting on May 7, 2019, in an act of heroism that has shaped our community. Now, a reminder of the young man – who brimmed with integrity, compassion, courage, and honor – is a permanent fixture in Highlands Ranch with the formal renaming of Lucent Boulevard to Kendrick Castillo Way. John and Maria Castillo led the celebration of their son’s legacy this week surrounded by family, friends, the Board of Douglas County Commissioners, Gov. Jared Polis, Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly and other state and local representatives. https://lnkd.in/grnRBTCD

Proud of the partnership!
The Board of Douglas County Commissioners has selected 19 non-profit programs to share $135,000 in grant funds from the County’s 2024 portion of the Philip S. Miller Trust. Together, these vital programs cast a wide safety net throughout the County by delivering programs and services such as suicide prevention, therapy, medical assistance, mental health, emergency financial assistance and support for seniors and school-age children.
