Our Season's First PEOPLE FIRST Cook out. Gotta tell you, thank you so much to my management team for again pulling off the first PEOPLE FIRST cook out of the year. They don't have a lot to work with, but what they do have is ingenuity to make use of what they do have. This year we went with a Hawaiian themed grill. (Although there were Jaimacan Jams blasting). As usual. Lisette taking control of the grill while Nixon guides her in cooking to perfection. Thank You team for an AMAZING first half of the year and the job you do. You all are everyday STARS!

TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING What a great day for training and team building. Today we hosted DeMarcio Slaughter from our corporate office. DeMarcio is the Director of Training & Development for Pyramid Global Hospitality. DeMarcio pulled out all the stops today and performed 2 amazing training sessions geared towards the guest services team as well as the department managers. Our training covered team member experiences, engaging the guest throughout their stay and working together with great synergy among the team. DeMarcio, we can't thank you enough, it was a pleasure to host you this week and we hope to have a follow-up soon!

An Amazing Super Star! This week my DOS and her husband Eric returned from the Grand Cayman Islands after winner (I should say EARNING) a several days complimentary trip for two from Pyramid Global as she was officially welcomed into the Pyramid Platinum Club for 2023. Christina, you are a rock star and with the help and support of your immediate staff, you can do this again for 2024. I except no less from you. Thank you and your team for the amazing sales efforts you put forth on a daily basis. It's hugely appreciated and always noticed! #PGHPEOPLEFIRST

OK, so we aren't fancy but..... Today to continue the theme of celebrating my staff, I wanted to give them something they'd never had before. Sticky Buns! We set up a table right outside the employee breakroom with freshly made Amy's Bread sticky buns and some ice-cold milk. It's not fancy and it's not meant to be. What it is, is my way of thanking my staff with little things like this. Believe me, this goes a long way. Thank you all for the daily jobs you do for me and the company. Welcome to our annual Employee Appreciation Candy & Snack Buffet. Every year we hold an employee candy & snack buffet bar set up in our boardroom. We know there are healthier options out there, but the team absolutely LOVE this and they take serious advantage of it. It's just another fun way we try to take care of the team here. Next week they will be treated to a sticky bun and milk quick breakfast from Amy's Bread. Guys, I couldn't do this without you. You are the best team every! #PGHPEOPLEFIRST

DoubleTree by Hilton NYC - Downtown and Mother's Day! What a great Mother's Day at the DoubleTree NYC - Downtown. We held our annual Mother's Day Breakfast for all to enjoy. We also extended our appreciation to those mothers that worked today and were away from their families. (A few surprise gifts!) We soooooooooooo appreciate you and the work you do for us. Allow me to introduce Diogenes (Dio) Castillo, our trusted hotel Guest Services Manager. Dio was recently nominated by the team here at the DoubleTree by Hilton New York - Downtown as a contender for Pyramid Global's Manager of the Year program. While the finalists and/or winners for this have not been announced and will not be until the company conference in March, I felt it really important to acknowledge Dio for his contributions to our hotel and Pyramid Global Management Company. Dio has been here since we took over the hotel and has guided his department through both good and turbulent times. What has immerged is a department run like a well-oiled set of gears. Dio has decreased turnover, increased guest scores and has controlled his departmental expenses. Dio has also gone out to assist other Pyramid Global properties when needed. Very impressive and VERY valued! Dio, GOOD LUCK from all of your team here at the DoubleTree NYC - Downtown, we are rooting for you!

The list of feats Bryan has accomplished and performed as you can well imagine, are many. Our Annual Coat Drive for 2023. The DoubleTree NYC - Downtown Staff again has gone above and beyond. For 2023 we were able to collect 50 coats in two large trash bags full to donate to those in need in the New York City metropolitan area. Thank You Tabatha for heading this up for us. It took no time at all to collect these coats and hopefully we will get them out into distribution in the next several days. I couldn't ask for a more enthusiastic caring team! GM = PROUD
