We added a light from the window direction to enhance it and used another light from the left as the key light and then added a v-flat reflector. We had been taking photos of this sweet lady with one of her friends and then did a few photos with a physical therapist. While her friend was getting into position for the next set up, we were talking and just having fun hanging out. Angling the cross trainer machines slightly and turning the panel of exercise equipment toward the subject helps lead the eye back to her and emphasize her as the focal point. The layered placement of the elements and the windows with open blinds make the room seem even larger. Her great smile is the best part though. Health care lifestyle photo S'mores by the fire pit Using a second camera to capture candid photos. Our primary shot was a wide angle view of a large group of seniors smiling and roasting marshmallows. It was more of an architectural photo showing the outdoor space and I had it pre-framed on the tripod. This photo was taken with a second handheld camera with a tighter lens and a second strobe transmitter allowing me to trigger the same lights without having to move the primary camera. Once we had the marshmallows catching fire and everyone started snacking, I switched back and forth between the two and got some more casual fun photos . We asked them to move to the table in the center of the room to give more space and to include more of the room in the photo. Having them against the wall made them look like they were stuck in a corner of a small room and wasn't showing the furniture and pretty decor of the space. They typically meet for breakfast. Every time we modified the set up, I'd tell them to rest and talk amongst themselves. While they were talking, I'd shoot a few frames of them just hanging out. Happy Friday! Let's get outside. Happy New Year! Winter is a great time for sky photos. With low humidity and fronts coming through one after the other, the clouds are so dynamic. This was taken on New Year's. All day the sky was a grey blanket. Then about an hour before sunset, the clouds started breaking up and letting the sun through. This area is right above the dam. It's really impressive to watch the long barges line up to go through the lock. Sometimes I see a spotter on the front working with the captain. When they come through on the other side, the dam turns on the sirens and the water starts rushing and sloshing waves as they open the lock. Then this thing the size of a building magically appears from behind the lock wall - nosing out, gliding past you.
