It is with enormous gratitude that we announce the retirement of Design Principal Alex Espinosa after nearly four decades of dedicated service to clients with Dorsky Yue International. We are wishing Alex bon-voyage heading into a wonderful new chapter of his life’s journey full of travel, adventure, and plenty of time to paint! After completing his undergraduate studies in Mexico City and receiving his master’s degree in urban design at the University of Michigan, Alex began his Architectural career as a sole proprietor in his native Mexico before returning to the United States in 1984.?Cleveland based William Dorsky and Associates was fortunate to discover a unique and fresh talent in Alex and he has been with us ever since! In 2003, Alex became a Design Principal and has represented Dorsky + Yue throughout countless client meetings, design charrettes, national and international conferences. Alex’s understated presence complimented his humble but inspiring design leadership as he brought out his “Alex on the spot - travelling studio” demonstrating his sketchy, layered, visual processing we have all come to admire. His creativity, passion and illustrative talent has become a signature here at DYI. Alex’s “hand” has influenced countless projects representing work of DYI for decades represented in the thousands of site plan studies, perspective renderings, sketches, and built projects. Locally, Alex’s architectural vision can be experienced at Legacy Village in Lyndhurst, First and Main in Hudson, and the Easton Gateway District in Columbus, Ohio. Other notable projects include University Town Center in Sarasota and St. John’s Town Center in Jacksonville, Florida. As a leader, Alex has been generous to share his approach and talent with his colleagues and clients. Whether a sketching charette, sketching class, planning basics or Place Making presentations, his perspective has made an enormous impact on our work. We are grateful for his contributions and the many years Alex has spent in his career with us here at Dorsky + Yue. His work ethic, enthusiasm, humor and unique “hand” on the firm’s culture will surely be missed.
