???Veterans’ research is at risk — action is needed NOW.??? Today, NAVREF joined forces with leading Veterans’ Service Organizations to sound the alarm: the 100-year legacy of VA research is in jeopardy. A federal hiring freeze, workforce shortages, and funding constraints threaten the very foundation of the medical breakthroughs that have transformed care for veterans and all Americans. A huge thanks to DAV (Disabled American Veterans), Elizabeth Dole Foundation, Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), & Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) for their partnership and commitment to veterans' research. We cannot afford to let this crisis go unanswered. Policymakers must act?immediately?to protect and strengthen veterans' care and their access to lifesaving research. Our veterans and their caregivers deserve nothing less. Read our full statement ?? or at https://lnkd.in/eB4eg6fU (h/t Naomi Mathis, Randy Reese, Meredith Beck, Steven Schwab, Carl Blake, S. VA RESEARCH AT RISK: VETERANS AND LEADERS DEMAND IMMEDIATE ACTION Veterans' healthcare is at risk as critical VA research faces major setbacks due to the federal hiring freeze, workforce reductions, and funding cuts. In our latest statement, NAVREF, along with DAV (Disabled American Veterans), Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), Elizabeth Dole Foundation, and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), is calling for immediate action to safeguard the future of VA research, which directly impacts veterans’ care today. #VAsupport #VeteransResearch #HealthcareInnovation #NAVREF #VSOs #VeteransCare #MedicalResearch

NAVREF was recently featured in The American Prospect, warning about the devastating impact of research cuts at the VA. Over 200 research positions remain vacant, hundreds of studies have been canceled or disrupted, and veteran care is already being affected. Clinical research is not just about innovation—it’s about saving lives. Veterans battling cancer, PTSD, and other serious conditions depend on the progress made through VA research. Without action, we risk losing not only funding but also the dedicated experts whose work makes this research possible. #VeteransHealth #VAResearch #NAVREF #MedicalInnovation https://lnkd.in/eyJ_ZiTQ
