Attending the Medicaid Town Hall with Senators Gallego and Kelly was an invaluable opportunity to engage in an important discussion about the future of Medicaid and the potential impact of proposed cuts on our communities. While no specific cuts to the program have been defined yet, there are plans in motion to "come up" with reductions to federal contributions. If these cuts are implemented, Arizona's Medicaid expansion could face collapse, with rural areas being the first to feel the strain. This would put immense pressure on our state's already overburdened healthcare system. This conversation is far from over. It's crucial we continue to raise awareness and advocate for sustainable solutions that protect the health and well-being of our most vulnerable populations. Colorado River Conference Yields ‘Mixed Bag’ for Arizona Water Officials: Arizona water leaders attended the annual Colorado River Users Association conference amid tense discussions on renewing the Colorado River compact, set to expire in 2026. Representing Arizona, ADWR Director Tom Buschatzke and CAP Board President Terry Goddard joined stakeholders from seven states to navigate challenging negotiations. Tensions ran high as Upper Basin and Lower Basin states debated key issues.
