The Foundation's #Pinkbeard Challenge is ongoing! If we can raise $100,000 by October 1, 2019, our Executive Director will keep his beard dyed for 1 full year! Each month, he will change the coloring to match the cancer awareness month! To contribute, please visit: https://lnkd.in/gUrBgWm

Helping Children of Cancer Patients
关于我们
The Doreen Katz Memorial Cancer Foundation is a unique organization focused on children whose parents are either battling cancer or have lost the battle by providing for their education and general support. In today's world, school districts throughout the country are now charging fees for items that were once a part of a regular education. Items such as taking an Advanced Placement Class or playing sports after school or Science and Technology fees. These fees are often out of reach for families dealing with the extra costs of chemotherapy and other cancer treatments. The Foundation steps in to make sure that children of these families still have access to a complete education. In addition, the Foundation has a network of therapists specializing in Grief therapy ready to work with the children and the family to make sure that everyone understands the diagnosis and what will be happening during the treatment cycle.

Welcome to 2025! There are currently over 5 million children in the US with a parent diagnosed with cancer. We are here to #Helpkidsofcancerpatients and we need to become a national foundation. Today, we are kicking off the #DKMCF_Billion_Dollar_Challenge looking for 1 billion people to donate $1 to our cause so we can help those 5 million children. Please consider a donation today and also please share this campaign! https://lnkd.in/gnJsjda3

November 19, 1996, 28 years ago our Executive Director married his best friend while on leave from his assignment in Misawa, Japan. It was a difficult day because he knew there wasn't going to be a happily ever after as Doreen was near the end, but it was the right thing to do! Doreen's foundation has truly been the most amazing blessing, and we look forward to continuing to help others through this endeavor! If you would like to help us #Helpkidsofcancerpatients please text Pinkbeard to 44321 to donate!

While the foundation focuses on children of any cancer patient, we owe our existence to our Executive Director's amazing wife, Doreen, who died from breast cancer and therefore every year there is always one day in October that is a Pink Out Day! If you would like to help us #Helpkidsofcancerpatients please text Pinkbeard to 44321 to donate!

Today's bow tie is black for Melanoma! When the foundation was first starting out, a friend who was a teacher passed from Melanoma and she had people give donations to us and one other charity in lieu of flowers! An incredible gesture and really got us going on the right foot! If you would like to help us #Helpkidsofcancerpatients text Pinkbeard to 44321 to donate!

October has been incredibly busy, but our Executive Director is wearing a different bow tie daily to represent all the other cancers. The month started with Gray for Brain Cancer as the foundation's first family has been dealing with that diagnosis for many years! The next one up was Lime Green for Lymphoma followed by White for Lung Cancer. Friday brought in the Red for Blood Cancer as we also Remembered Everyone Deployed! Saturday was a Royal Blue shirt for Mesothelioma, and then this Monday brought out the Yellow for Sarcoma! If you would like to help us #Helpkidsofcancerpatients text Pinkbeard to 44321
