The owners of this magnificent 2.75-acre parcel perched high above Lake Michigan in Douglas, Michigan, collaborated with DMA to create a fabulous Lake House. The goal was to design a house where they could enjoy their family and friends throughout the year while taking advantage of the breathtaking views and the beach. In addition to the main 5-bedroom three story residence, a 3-car carriage house was designed and sited for convenient access along with awesome views of the lake. Our development team included a local general contractor and interior designer whose experience and talents were crucial in making the Lake House a reality.  

Construction renovations are progressing for Ascension Living PACE Flint at their new location and we cannot wait for its doors to open this Spring! Dorchen/Martin Associates is honored to partner with Ascension Living PACE Flint to help them renovate an existing building and expand their services within the Flint community. The PACE (Program of all-inclusive care for elderly) program supports seniors 55 and older who are medically qualified to live in a nursing home but want to stay in their own home. The relocated facility will offer primary care, transportation, and a day center with a range of activities for its participants. The clinic within the building will provide medical, vision and hearing care as well as weekly visiting specialists. There will be an in-house pharmacy for all medication needs, and a physical therapy gym with trainers to help participants work on mobility and strength training. The PACE program and this new expanded facility will foster independence for its participants while giving them the medical care they need.

In addition to multiple municipal building and expansion projects for nearly 35 years, D/MA has enjoyed partnering with the City of Sterling Heights for the past 7+ years on their city parks and recreation improvements. The Nelson Park project is going to have some unique amenities for the community to engage with including a butterfly conservatory, community garden, children’s garden as well as ADA compliant pathways.
