  • Teen Board executive committee members, Sara and Katie, enjoyed dinner with two of our founders, Becky Swanson and Nancy McNitt, earlier this week! What a gift it is for these ladies to share stories and memories over a meal with two of our high school students who are just as passionate about advancing our mission today as they were in 1968!

  • As Black History Month ends and Women’s History Month begins, we celebrate our founders, a group of trailblazing women from across racial and denominational lines who unapologetically pushed cultural boundaries and cared for the least of these during the civil unrest of the late ‘60s. In this interview from 2009, one of those women, Ms. Jeanette Evans, shares the heart behind the early days of Dorcas and their commitment to care for the community and serve those in need, no matter what, never knowing the impact and legacy they’d leave!
