Not ashamed to say I love doqit! And let me explain why. Of course, as founders we love (most days) our businesses. I’ve got customer love. Busy working Mum love. Okay that’s enough with the love I hear you say ?? Life is full of stresses. Take Tuesday for example. Chloe had a hospital apt at John Radcliffe in Oxford. Parking is usually tricky, so we left plenty time to get there. Not enough time though. All the car parks were full with people driving in circles doing the “are you coming out mate” to anyone still in their car. Nightmare. 40 minutes it took to get a space. And that space was at the opposite side of where we needed to be. Chloe’s not speedy, so by the time we got to the Maxillo Facial department, we were almost an hour late ?? So I felt right on the back foot. Apologising to everyone who had a NHS lanyard and hoping we’d still be able to be seen. We were. But…. Can you confirm - Chloe’s hospital number - Chloe’s NHS number - Has her iron level increased since the last visit And here’s why I love doqit. I might have been stressed out my head, frazzled from dragging Chloe the length of the JR, but I knew I had it all there. Kerching! One swipe and there it all was. ?? Info shared. Appointment done. Care for your people and they’ll care for the business. On Tuesday I was delighted to be one of the entrepreneurs selected to pitch to HR and Rewards senior leadership at NatWest. Preparing for the pitch, I dug a little deeper on what it looks like to be a NatWest colleague. It’s a really great place to work? - Among top UK family-friendly employers - Equal parental leave policy - Flexible working to support work-life balance Just the tip of the comprehensive iceberg of support and benefits. What struck me is the valuable support for working parents. And that gave me a dilemma. Where’s the gap for a new player to be considered. NatWest put their people at the heart of their business. Perception versus reality in startup land. On Sunday I had a ping from the website. Someone wanting help. They were unsure how to use doqit. We were about to meet friends for a birthday lunch, and to be honest, it had been a helluva week ( resilience post coming up ) so after establishing the need, I offered a demo on Monday morning. Teams link sent. Monday morning I log on and the person arrives. “Oh wow! I didn’t realise it would be you!” “But you’re the founder, the CEO, don’t you have important meetings to be in” Isn’t it funny how start up life is perceived. Founders are customer services, social media managers, research assistants, and general dogsbody all rolled into one. With no more important a meeting than that with a customer! I did say this but they were having none of it. The net result was this customer shared they felt really special that they had my full attention, and I was delighted to be able to show how doqit can help alleviate some of the challenges that they’d been experiencing with life admin. 20 minutes.
