It could be the agency's biggest policy change in 50 years! The new rule would recognize the medical uses of marijuana & that it has less potential for abuse than other drugs, reclassifying it as a Schedule III drug. The move would also eliminate significant tax burdens for businesses in states where the drug is legal, notably getting rid of the IRS code Section 280E which prohibits legal cannabis companies from deducting are typically considered business expenses.
