??? Engineers Week at Dontech: 2/16 - 2/22 Recap ??? We were excited to once again celebrate Engineers Week with the 2025 theme: "Design Your Future!" ?? This year, our team got creative with fun engineering challenges and earned some awesome commemorative Eweek gifts. ?? Each year, Dontech hosts several engineering-based activities for our employees to compete in and enjoy, along with offering participants a choice of commemorative Eweek-themed gifts. In celebration of 2025’s theme, employees participated in a take home activity by designing “something for the future” out of popsicle sticks. Our winner, as voted on by all employees, designed a solar paneled truck! ???? Additionally, this year the onsite activity was an employee suggestion, a marble coaster run, that was tons of fun for all who participated!??? The National Society of Professional Engineers held the first Engineers Week, or “Eweek” in 1951 to help bolster the public’s recognition for and understanding of engineering. ??♀???♂? This inaugural Eweek was a success, even being recognized by then President Harry Truman who encouraged the engineering profession to "rededicate itself to the peace and well-being of our common country." As surmised by an editorial in The American Engineer, “one feels much hope for the future.”??? A huge congratulations to all of this year’s winners, and a big thank you to the Dontech employees who participated in the festivities! ???? We’re proud to have contributed to causes aligned with our values, worked with local organizations, and honored those who make a difference. Here are some highlights: ? Engineers Week (February): We celebrated Engineers Week with the National Society of Professional Engineers, emphasizing engineering's importance. ? Quad A – Army Aviation Expo (April): Dontech showcased our contributions to the army aerospace sector, advancing optics, coatings, and avionics. ? Kin Wellness & Support (May 4): Friends Giving Back honored Tara Gormley and raised funds for Kin Wellness & Support, helping cancer patients in Bucks County. ? Our Lady of Confidence Golf Outing (May 20): We supported the 2nd Annual Charity Golf Outing benefiting special education at Our Lady of Confidence. ?? Memorial Day at Washington’s Crossing National Cemetery: Dontech honored fallen veterans by placing flags at the Avenue of Flags. ??♂? Ben to the Shore Bike Tour (July 21): We participated in the 37th annual ride for Families Behind the Badge, supporting families of fallen first responders. ?? Font Hill Beer Festival (August 24): We supported the Bucks County Historical Society’s efforts to preserve local history. ??♀? 9/11 Heroes Run (September): Dontech joined the 9/11 Heroes Run in Doylestown, honoring first responders and military personnel. ?? Fall Harvest Sampler (September 27): As an Eagle-level sponsor, we supported Peace Valley Nature Center’s fundraiser for environmental conservation. ??♀? MS City to Shore Ride (September 28-29): Our team participated in the MS City to Shore Ride, raising funds for the National MS Society. ?? Dontech Open House (October 7-9): In celebration of National Manufacturing Day, we hosted our 1st Open House, showcasing our work in optical films, coatings, and components. ?? Cocktails at the Castle (October 12): We supported a fundraiser for the Mercer Museum & Fonthill Castle, supporting cultural preservation. ?? AUSA Expo (October): Dontech showcased our defense and aerospace sector contributions, discussing optics, films, and coatings. ?? MORE THAN PINK Walk (October 26): We joined the Susan G. Komen Foundation’s walk, supporting breast cancer research. ?? Cranksgiving (November): We participated in Doylestown Bike Works’ event, collecting food and donations for local families. ?? Operation Give Back (Holiday Season): Dontech supported PA CareerLink's holiday gift drive, helping Bucks County families. ? Toys for Tots (Holiday Season): Through the US Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program, our team donated gifts to children in need. ? Looking Ahead: Reflecting on 2024, we’re grateful for the opportunity to support our community and work with incredible organizations. We look forward to continuing our efforts in 2025 and beyond. ?? Veterans Day began in 1918 as Armistice Day, originally celebrated in honor of the “eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month” that marked the end of WWI. The holiday evolved to honor all U.S. veterans following WWII, and is now observed annually on November 11th to recognize the service and sacrifice of U.S. military personnel across all conflicts. It serves as both a solemn remembrance and a celebration of veterans' contributions to the nation's freedom and security. ? A resounding THANK YOU, from Dontech to all Veterans!
