We’re thrilled to share an update about Jacob, one of our incredible partners, who recently visited the United States with his fiscal sponsor, Pastor Chris Malett from Water’s Edge Church in Zionsville, Indiana. ???? Jacob began his trip in North Carolina, where he trained with Samaritan's Purse before heading to Washington, D.C., for a series of impactful meetings. Pictured here in front of the Ronald Reagan Building, Jacob met with a Senator from Indiana, a Congressman from California, and a representative from USAID to discuss urgent humanitarian aid for South Sudan. The country has been devastated by war since 2013, and the crisis has recently worsened, leaving countless refugees without food, clean water, or shelter. This incredible journey was made possible thanks to Pastor Chris, who sponsored the trip and traveled alongside Jacob in his lovingly renovated RV, the “Buck Truck,” named after Chris’s Sheltie dog, Buck. Along the way, Jacob also spoke to the congregation at Water’s Edge Church, sharing his mission of peacemaking and inspiring others to get involved. Jacob, who holds a college degree in Peacemaking, has been chosen as a representative of South Sudan to advocate for solutions and amplify the voices of those affected by this crisis.
