Welcome to the team! For those who follow us, you might remember our Builder Spotlight Posts from earlier in the year, today's post is all about Russell Turner. Russell recently joined our Operations team as a Superintendent, overseeing commercial projects in our Richmond division. How long have you been in the industry? "I have been in construction now for 34 years. I have always enjoyed seeing the building come out of the ground, and to be able to see what you've accomplished at the end of each day. I'm not sure of other lines of work, that when done well, will be of value for a hundred or more years." What motivates you to come to work each day? "My family. My wife of 29-years, kids, and my precious grand-daughters. I like being someone they can depend on no matter what the situation may bring." What does life look like for you outside of work? "You will find me at home most likely. I enjoy raising a garden, keeping too many chickens, and simply working around my family's small farm. There is always something to be done on our small piece of heaven on Earth!" Please join us in welcoming Russell to our team!

Donaldson's Charlottesville division has a new home! We've been looking for a new office suite over the past several months and are proud to say we have a permanent home in downtown Charlottesville. Looking forward to getting fully moved in, and branding done this month, so our space is fully completed.

CASA Charlottesville donation project was a huge success this week. Thank you to the team at Cavanaugh Cabinets for providing us with a full set of cabinets for this! This install was a volunteering partnership with Jim Cavanaugh's team, following a site visit earlier this Summer, to develop a custom layout to suit this space. Also, thanks to John Donaldson for the help with the install yesterday. Enjoyed spending a morning together to help support a great cause!

Talk about space to work! Our Richmond ops team just started a roughly 5,000 SF, TI build-out in Chesterfield this past week. Incredibly thankful for the ability to support Range Commercial's Richmond division. This project has a quick turnover schedule, so we began pre-planning weeks in advance to be able to hit the ground running. Cannot wait to see all the prep work pan out to a finished product!

Best way to end the week? Donating to a local Church/Preschool! Had fun putting this outdoor picnic table together. Thanks John Donaldson for the help! Have a great weekend everyone.

New IPE pavers anyone? As part of the final phase of Patterson, we are adding in an exterior roof landscaping space, an interior lobby entrance way with walnut millwork and batten, and new tile flooring. Looking forward to the end result, it is going to be a great new entrance and meeting space for this building!

Building in an occupied space presents its challenges, it is where overcommunication is crucial. Ensuring neighbors are informed, and knowing work schedules may need to adjust to accommodate them is key. However, it is incredibly rewarding for tenants to witness their space transform daily. Upfit work has been central to our team's background, and will remain so in the future, but looking ahead we are thrilled for the opportunities that have been presented to us to return to ground-up builds. Exciting developments are on the horizon for our team next year, we cannot wait to share them as we progress. While also staying humble and appreciative in what work has allowed us to build such a strong foothold in both Charlottesville and Richmond.

Opening up the layout for this floor made such a difference. Love seeing the original dormers exposed now, for this future office space! Homestretch - final millwork, cabinets, and fixtures and it will be ready for turnover.
