Air Test and Evaluation (UX) 24 air vehicle pilots at Pax River are the first to command an unmanned aircraft in flight with the Navy’s Unmanned Carrier Aviation Mission Control Station (UMCS). The Unmanned Carrier Aviation program office (PMA -268), General Atomics Aeronautical Systems and Lockheed Martin Skunk Works led the test Nov. 5, where AVPs stationed at Pax River’s Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Atlantic Test Range controlled GA ASI’s MQ-20 Avenger on the West Coast.
