Very proud of Domo Tactical Communications (DTC)'s participation in sponsoring this year's Lanyard Trophy, the Royal Corps of Signals' annual 40-mile / 64KM competitive speed march. As always we took the opportunity of attending the event to test real-world communications. Some surprisingly long mesh radio links were achieved bringing a Mohoc video feed from the final checkpoint back to the finish line, including a single link of 3.8KM through 1700m of dense mixed woodland in the rain with 1W of output power. With the mesh links up and running we set up a Codan | Domo Tactical Communications HF basestation, even sending morse code back to the Southampton office in light of the Royal Signals heritage of the event. Old-school radio operators, let me know if you can read the transmission even without hearing it! Credit to Michael Rowlinson for being out there at 0330, setting up and tearing down radios in the dark and rain.
