Domingo Gonzalez Associates is excited to be part of the team redesigning the AirTrain at Newark Liberty International Airport, a?new 2.5-mile elevated rail system that replaces an existing system with a modern, efficient transportation link featuring three new stations. DGA designed the lighting for the original AirTrain, so we’re proud to collaborate with Tutor Perini Corporation, O&G Industries, Inc. Parsons Corporation and Dattner Architects to re-shape the future of one of the busiest airports in the country by delivering dynamic, architecturally appropriate and energy efficient lighting solutions for the new stations and guideway. NEW: The Port Authority has awarded joint-venture firm Tutor Perini/O&G with a design-build contract to replace Newark Liberty International Airport's existing outmoded AirTrain system. The project will include a 2.5-mile elevated rail structure, known as the guideway, and three new stations for the new AirTrain system that will align with the ongoing redevelopment of the airport. “Our major airports are the front doors of this region for the rest of the world and ensuring easy, reliable public transit to and from the airport is critical,” said Port Authority Executive Director Rick Cotton. “As we embark on the Newark vision plan, a new AirTrain is essential to both meeting increasing volumes at our airports and delivering a world-class passenger experience for Newark Liberty passengers.” Learn more about our plans to reimagine Newark Liberty: https://ow.ly/AT0u50U7qZi #ANewEWR #Aviation #Redevelopment
