No matter what their circumstances, every person deserves to feel safe, supported and heard. At DVSAS, we support individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual assault and sexual exploitation, and lead the community toward ending those abuses of power. When we talk about individuals affected by domestic or sexual violence, we’re talking about every one of us. When 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced violence at the hands of an intimate partner, each and every life has been affected by partner violence or sexual assault. Whether it’s you, a loved one, a co-worker or a friend, someone you know needs help. And so, DVSAS is there.

We need your immediate help. Our victim's services safeguards are at risk and set to expire on June 30th, 2025. Without action, shelters and services across Washington State will be drastically reduced or forced to close altogether.?Your voice is crucial in ensuring that these programs continue to provide the necessary support to those in need. Act Now. 1. Send a message to Governor Ferguson to express the importance of maintaining funding for these programs. 2. Share this action alert by text, social, or email and ask people in our life to send a message as well.? Let Governor Ferguson know why these basic safety nets are important to you! These programs are crucial for providing support to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and other crimes. Ask him to ensure that $50 million per biennium be included in the State budget to protect the community safety net for victims of violence, abuse and violent crime. We must find a sustainable solution to maintain these services. If additional revenue is necessary to preserve this safety net, urge him to take the steps necessary to secure the required budget. Position Summary: The Safe Housing Advocate is responsible for providing empowerment-based direct services to adult and child shelter residents and callers on the 24-hour helpline and for ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the shelter facilities. Direct services include: shelter intakes; safety planning; emotional support; education about domestic violence, sexual assault, and trauma responses; referrals to community resources; crisis intervention; accountability discussions; conflict resolution with other residents; and parenting support.?Holidays, evenings, weekend, weekday, and on-call overnight hours are required. https://lnkd.in/gwQ4P9i8
