Why go through the trouble of trying to hack in, if you can simply buy your way into an organization's network? Cyber-criminals leverage compromised credentials on the dark web and other adversarial sources. According to IBM X-Force Threat Intel, Cyber attacks which leveraged user credentials rose 71% in 2023. Attackers often exploit employee and customer credentials obtained from adversarial forums. If your organization has externally facing systems accessible to customers but lacks control over the security of their devices, you could be at risk. Attackers can use compromised credentials to gain access, making it a potential entry point to target your organization. How do you get ahead of this problem? Consider a proactive monitoring solution for Dark Web artifacts. #domainguard #guardyourdomain #antiphishing #antifraud

As usual, attackers are adept at timing the market just as good as anyone else. Job recruiting scams are on the rise, accompanied by an increase in new domain registrations containing the term 'career'. These attackers are specifically targeting job seekers by registering deceptive domains like companycareers[.]com - where company is the name of a legitimate company. One notable trend we've observed in these scams is that the fraudsters now use nearly perfect English grammar. This suggests they may be leveraging advancements in AI to create more convincing content, as poor grammar used to be a clear giveaway in the past. The fraudsters reach out to their victims through LinkedIn and email, soliciting sensitive information related to the job application process and offering employment opportunities that seem too good to be true. The chart below illustrates a significant spike in April, with a consistent month-to-month increase in these registrations since May. We anticipate even higher numbers by the end of August. Please inform your hiring teams about this scam so they can stay vigilant. #domainguard #guardyourdomain #antiphishing #antifraud #externalmonitoring #externalvisibility

The worst user experience is when your customers fall victim to theft. The FTC has already reported over $2.4 billion in fraud losses for Q1 of 2024, and this figure only represents the reported cases. While cyber-security experts are adept at internal monitoring, the industry must also prioritize and integrate external monitoring. Most attackers target businesses and their customers from the outside, making it crucial to allocate resources to monitor these external threats. #domainguard #antiphishing #antifraud #externalmonitoring
