I love how, as an American, I can write to my elected officials to have my voice heard and influence legislation. You might call me naive or a dreamer. It doesn't matter. I can do things within my control. Will you join me? There are so many things out of our control. What is in our control is our own agency. Writing a letter to my elected officials is within my control. Using my agency and platform to help others is within my control. My most recent letter is directed at the Ways and Means Committee. You see, employers offering their teams student loan benefits have amazing tax deductions available to them. A company can deduct up to $5,250 per person per year for their contributions towards student loan payments. The best part: it's tax-free for the employees. This tax deduction is at risk. The deductions expire at the end of 2025. Myself and many others have written to the Ways and Means committee. We strongly urge them to extend the availability of these deductions. If you're currently offering or plan to offer student loan benefits please join me. I'll personally send you a template for a letter and instructions on how to submit. Let's save these tax deductions! https://lnkd.in/gJCC2xA9

Founder and CEO at Dolr | Beat student debt, save more for retirement, and build wealth.

There are 2M fewer people enrolled in college than there were 10 years ago. Yet, the total tuition has grown by $18 BILLION in the same period. College enrollments have been declining over the last decade. No doubt fuelled by the cost of higher education. BUT, up until the pandemic in 2020 college tuition was steady. Hovering around $276B per year. So why the massive jump in tuition from 2021 to 2024? Tution went from $272B to $295B. A $23B spike in 4 years. How? ... Why? My two cents: the pandemic scared institutions of higher education. And the student loan forgiveness talk emboldened them. The small spike in enrollments this year helps them justify their actions. This is why any student loan debt reform has to address reform in how education is priced and delivered. graph credit: MyeLearningWorld with data from NSCRC. Let me know if you want to read their report and I'll share. Thank you for sharing this mind blowing data with me, Ryan J. Beal!

Fixed income? Nah ... Dolr Dolr bills y'all.

Founder and CEO at Dolr | Beat student debt, save more for retirement, and build wealth.

Most financial planning exists to address one fundamental constraint: ?? people have a fixed income This constraint has spurred many industries: ? The (side) gig economy from uber to etsy and everything in-between ? Almost the entire "finfluencer" space (finance influencer) ? The classic, "get your real estate license" group And likely many others (what did I miss?) With Dolr we started with the same "fixed income" constraint. And turned it on it's head. Dolr is a found money platform accelerating people to $0 student loan debt. In half the time. Saving $10's of thousands. So they can build wealth. We get people money for extra student loan payments from things they already do or have. ?? You have a job? We get you student loan benefits ?? You shop? We get you cashback paid to your student loans ?? You have a community? We enable them to gift you their cashback And we're just getting started. Dolr Dolr bills y'all.

Celebrate your HR leader. They're doing amazing things with very little.

Founder and CEO at Dolr | Beat student debt, save more for retirement, and build wealth.

It's always been hard being and HR leader. Right now, it's even harder. "I need to update our benefits so we're more competitive. Budget is tight and we need to update the core benefits. But if feels it's impossible to compete with only the core benefits today. For example our 401k is 4% match and we're struggling to get participation. We need to stand out and differentiate ourselves. We need a few options that cover 80-90% of our employees and are cost effective. Financial wellness is definitely a hot area and our CEO wants us to lean on learning and development too." Leaders are being pushed to recruit more, faster. While balancing the cost of labor. The options they have available are: ? Kick the can down the road. Get the core benefits package updated and work with total comp to "sell" it better. Say they're reviewing the landscape for decision next year. ? Check the box. Buy from the "everything to everyone" platform. It's expensive, hard to implement, and adds work on their plates for admin and maintenance. Explain why it doesn't work later. ? Solve the problem. Work with 2-3 partners to add modern benefits selections that cover their teams needs. Feels like option 3 is the winner. Why do options 1 and 2 often win? HR leaders have a high bar to justify the business case in option 3. Even though it's the better option. Funny, because folks often speak a lot about "making the business case" then offer no support. If this is something your dealing with, DM me and I'm glad to be listen while you vent. ?????? Oh and yes, Dolr will help you with your business case. ??
