At Doloromics, we are deeply grateful to our partners like Donor Network West and the selfless contributions of organ donors whose generosity fuels groundbreaking research in chronic pain. The neurons we study, once integral to a person’s sensory experience, now continue their vital work in helping us uncover new insights into pain mechanisms. These donations create a legacy far beyond saving lives through transplantation—they are pivotal in advancing scientific discovery that will benefit generations to come. I think that many scientists will tell you they get excited by their work, or that the questions it poses drive them to keep digging. I feel that way about the work we do at Doloromics, but beyond that there is a piece of it that is even more profound. Our work, which is facilitated by incredibly dedicated and talented partners like Donor Network West, is only possible because of the selflessness of everyday organ donors. The data we gather from them and the traces they leave behind are a clear and ever present legacy. I know our team is beyond thankful.

We’re excited to share our latest research collaboration with Anatomic Incorporated, Nanion Technologies, and the Center for Advanced Pain Studies. Our new study focuses on characterizing human iPSC-derived sensory neurons, offering a significant leap forward in pain research. Traditional pain models often rely on rodent tissues, which, while valuable, do not fully capture the complexity of human pain mechanisms. In this study, we explored a novel population of iPSC-derived sensory neurons that more closely resemble human dorsal root ganglia (DRG) at both the transcriptomic and functional levels. By leveraging single-nucleus RNA sequencing and high-throughput automated patch clamp electrophysiology, we validated the utility of these neurons in modeling pain pathways. This work is critical for the future of pain therapeutics, providing a scalable, human-relevant platform for drug discovery. We’re grateful for the collaborative spirit of our partners and look forward to continuing our mission to transform pain management through innovative science. At Doloromics, we are dedicated to bringing precision medicine to chronic pain through innovative science and technology. Our work involves utilizing human neuronal tissue from actual pain patients and our proprietary DOLOReS platform to map the molecular interactions underlying chronic pain. By identifying critical pain drivers, we are able to develop precise new treatments that target the root causes of chronic pain. We believe that understanding pain at the molecular level is the key to unlocking effective and lasting therapies. This commitment to cutting-edge research and technology is what sets us apart and drives our mission to bring relief to millions suffering from chronic pain. Our approach not only advances the field of pain therapeutics but also provides hope for a future where pain can be managed more effectively and patients can lead better lives. Join us on this journey as we strive to change the game in pain management and make a significant impact on the lives of those affected by chronic pain. Life Science Animation

As our team continues to grow in size, we would like to take a moment to recognize Dale George, PhD. Dale joined Doloromics in the summer of 2022 and has worked tirelessly to enable the buildout of our therapeutic pipeline. In addition, she has grown her own team of lab scientists, coordinated experiments between them, and helped each one of them continue to learn and develop in their professional careers. To honor and recognize this work, Dale has been promoted to our new Principal Scientist. Cheers to Dale, her team, and the work they have done! Watch this space to see how the team continues to grow.

Across the scientific work and collaborations our team gets to partake in, none make us feel as honored, privileged, and fortunate as the research enabled by Donor Network West. Over the last month we have had the opportunity to share our research with their team and discuss the different therapeutic avenues we are pursuing. Additionally, we are proud to announce our sponsorship of DNW's first annual Chipping Away 4 Hope Golf Tournament.
