We went full-on bananas for #NationalBananaSplitDay this year donating 9,600 DOLE? Bananas for an entire weekend of events celebrated with Giant Eagle, Inc., and the city of Latrobe, PA, the birthplace of the banana split. From serving scoopfuls of DOLE? Banana splits at the Giant Eagle corporate office, to sharing out hundreds of DOLE? Bananas at the Latrobe Giant Eagle, the multiple Bobby Banana appearances throughout the city and on the news, the 5K Banana Run, and the Great American Banana Split Festival - the team had a blast! We even kicked off the inaugural Dole Great American Banana Challenge where we saw challengers attempt to eat as many bananas as possible in 125 seconds (honoring our own Banana-Versary), with the winner eating 11!
