The celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month continues with our spotlight on a Navy SBIR/STTR Program rockstar, Antonio Rodríguez.
Antonio Rodríguez is a senior-level professional with more than 20 years of specialized expertise and experience in communications, strategic planning, survey design, data collection, and analysis supporting the Navy SBIR/STTR Program Management Office’s outreach efforts. Originally from Venezuela, Antonio holds degrees from Georgetown University and Universidad Central de Venezuela, along with several management and international relations graduate studies programs. As Navy SBIR/STTR Outreach Lead, he efficiently supports the program’s participation in state, regional, and national events. To increase participation of Hispanic minority-owned small businesses, innovators and entrepreneurs in the SBIR/STTR innovation ecosystem, Antonio also works with the Small Business Administration-hosted America’s Seed Fund Road Tour to facilitate direct contact between the Latino innovation community and federal funding opportunities. In addition, at all outreach events, materials are available in Spanish. Antonio remarked, “By facilitating those connections, conversations, and dialogues, we hope to increase knowledge and encourage Latino innovators and entrepreneurs to participate in the program.” Please visit www.navysbir.com and download the Spanish outreach materials! #HispanicHeritageMonth2024 #DoDInnovates #SBIR #STTR
“National Hispanic Heritage Month is an opportunity to celebrate and highlight the enormous contribution of the Latino community to the United States. As festivities and activities honoring the Latino community’s achievements and sacrifices are planned across the country, Hispanic Heritage Month allows me and others to increase awareness about our culture, our identity, and how we enrich the multicultural American society. For me, reaffirming the contribution of the Latino community to our shared history is both an honor and a big responsibility.” – Antonio Rodríguez
