There seems to be an emerging consensus (from those we’ve talked to) that the truly valuable principle in all of this is Inclusion. Diversity can make organizations stronger, but pursuing it for its own sake can have some significant negative unintended consequences. Equity can be tough to define, and has taken on negative political baggage, even when people intend it to mean equality of opportunity. But Inclusion ensures that people from a wide variety of backgrounds and perspectives can feel a sense of belonging in an organization. When it’s a focus, it can actually lead to diversity and equity in their best incarnations. https://lnkd.in/eJnMmZaF

Healthier organizations. A healthier country.
关于我们
DOC strives to build depolarizing organizational cultures that welcome a variety of perspectives and beliefs. Leaning into the shared spaces and shared goals that organizations provide, we help foster an environment of trust, where people can communicate effectively across their differences and disagreements, and where diversity of thought can truly be a strength, and not a liability.

Thanks for the shoutout (around 34m in) on this episode, ????Nic Milani ! Really interesting conversation about overachievement and the search for authentic connection. NSFW language!

While most companies think taking politics out of the workplace makes for a more unified office and better work, some companies are trying to politicize the workplace. This NPR Marketplace series has been fascinating. #officepolitics #depolarization #polariziation

We're so excited to be sponsoring Academics Bridging the Divide in two weeks. This unique event will feature faculty members from across the DC area talking about their work in the field of depolarization and will be moderated by Isaac Saul, editor-in-chief of Tangle. Also, some good snacks!

Thanks to everyone who was able to join us yesterday for our panel on polarization at work. We had some challenges, but we also had a great conversation and a lot of fun. We greatly appreciate the professional way the staff of the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution at George Mason University handled the uninvited Zoom guests. Who knew Zoom-Bombing was still a thing in 2024!
