Okay, it's been a while since I published an article in my newsletter series, @Africa's Business Environment. This year, I’m committed to being more active, and I’m starting with a sector close to my heart. As a social impact entrepreneur, foreign aid has played a key role in the work I've done within my community. However, with the recent U.S. decision to pause foreign aid, I can’t help but reflect on the potential implications for Africa as a whole. On January 20, 2025, the U.S. froze foreign aid for 90 days to reassess its alignment with national interests. Given how much African nations depend on critical U.S. support in areas like health, education, and development, I must ask: Will this help amplify Africa’s voice, or deepen dependency on U.S. priorities?
