Social entrepreneurs, visionaries, and change-makers, this one's for you... You are passionate about what you do and what you believe in. You're fired up by your conviction that yes, we can make a difference and you have a solution to offer the world… In fact, if you picked a favorite character from The Simpsons, it would almost certainly be Lisa Simpson. You help drive change and often develop the big ideas that can move us forward into a new future. You have a burning fire in your heart, filling you with conviction and determination… But, quite often, the qualities that make you an amazing social entrepreneur, visionary, and change-maker will hold back your marketing efforts. Are you struggling to get your audience to "buy in?" Your audience isn't focused on the big picture. It's too scary and intimidating. In the face of global, national, and regional problems… What can they accomplish against the world as an individual? They're just one person. Start with an idea or example your reader will find relevant to their life right now. Pull an emotional heartstring tied to that idea. Keep it personally relevant to your reader. Show how your solution addresses both and help them imagine how great things will be for them with your help. ?? When enough individuals make small changes, we can make big things happen together. Are you pouring your heart, soul, passion, and drive into your marketing without seeing results? Slide me a DM and let's talk. #SocialEntrepreneurship #DigitalMarketing #sales? Video clip is of Lisa Simpson standing in front of a town meeting. She's been investing her time going from door to door, trying to get local citizens to help clean up Lake Springfield. None of the adults have listened to her. In this clip she says, "I knew you wouldn't listen. So I took the liberty of pouring water from the lake in all your drinking glasses."

  • Would you rather be right or make an impact? Maybe you don't have to choose… If you’re looking for prospects who 100% agree with the vision and outlook of your social enterprise… You’re setting yourself up to fail based on an arbitrary purity test. But you can still create a big impact by showing your prospects how your solution aligns with their goals. That starts the relationship and sells your solution. Then by building the relationship and offering continued support, you can give them more exposure to your world-changing ideas and solutions… and the confidence to join you. Do you want to limit your impact and reach? Or do you want to change the world? #SocialEntrepreneurship #SocialImpact #DigitalMarketing

Your audience determines your messaging strategy and the language you should use… Take the # symbol as an example. To older generations, it’s the “pound” symbol. To younger and more current tech-savvy individuals, it’s the hashtag symbol. Now read #Sand both ways. The meaning will be determined by your target readers and the context you provide in your marketing. If you’re targeting multiple age demographics, you’ll need to adjust accordingly… But what if members of your audience are using screen readers to access your marketing materials… This is almost certainly the case. How will it be read to them? Will it make them feel like your brand is inclusive and respects disabled customers? If you want your marketing to be persuasive and inclusive, you must take these factors into account when developing your marketing. #DigitalMarketing #MarketingStrategy #Accessibility If you want to increase your customer base with accessible and inclusive marketing, send me a DM. I’m a psych-trained copywriter who knows how to write your marketing to be more accessible for folks with learning disabilities and diverse populations.

  • Ethical and mission-driven company leaders, Do you talk about the importance of paying living/thriving wages and reducing the exploitation of marginalized communities? If you outsource work to another vendor, whether it’s marketing, product development, manufacturing, or anything else, it’s on you to research their hiring and compensation packages. Your convictions don’t mean squat when you’re keeping companies that pay their workers exploitative and poverty wages in business. And yes, those workers notice when they’re creating for your mission-driven brand that talks the talk… While the person doing the work is getting paid a flat fee that works out to less than $5/hour. The simple fact is this: Your position as a business leader and contract signer gives you more leverage to require the companies you work with to increase wages. Stop looking at their want ads to gauge how much a company pays workers. At least for content mills, they’ll only advertise for top company leadership and managerial positions. Meanwhile, they’ll pay $15 to $30 for a research-intensive, human-written article that is optimized for SEO and takes 3-10 hours to do well. Ask how much your vendors pay the people at the bottom rungs of the organization: writers, line workers, seamstresses, etc. That’s where it matters. These dead-end poverty jobs tend to disproportionately harm disabled, female, and BIPOC workers. When you give those companies your business, you are saying you condone that exploitation. Part of your brand reputation is influenced by the people you choose to work with and their policies. Have you checked how well do the companies you work with reflect the values you claim to hold? #DigitalMarketing #AdvertisingAndMarketing #SocialEntrepreneurship Change the world by working with Do-Gooder Copywriting. Run by a psychology-trained multi-racial, disabled woman who is a proud member of the LGBTQIA community, we deliver top-notch digital marketing solutions that get the results you need without exploiting anyone.

Expert or not, there are only so many hours in a day. Don’t put on the shoulders of one person a workload that should be managed by a whole department… That’s a recipe for burnout and a high turnover rate. When you can’t afford a six-figure Chief Marketing Officer but your business has grown and you need more support… And when your marketing needs a high-level strategy to take you to the next step or it’s become too much for a single person to handle… You can keep your marketing budget down by investing in a Fractional Chief Marketing Officer to do the high-level work for a few hours each week and then supplement with freelancers. There’s a solution for whatever stage you’re in. • Feeling boxed in by your marketing? If you’re like most founders, you started your business with a plan and a vision. You created an offer, chose the people you wanted to help, and developed a marketing strategy around messaging that would speak to your audience. And it worked! You’ve made sales. Your business has grown. You’re ready to scale up… But you also feel restless, maybe even bored. As your business has grown, so have you. You want to create new offers, help new people, and do new things… You don’t necessarily want to stop what you’ve been doing, but you want to expand on it. And that means you’re feeling caught between where you are and where you want to be… Subtle but strategic shifts in your messaging, offer, and targeting can help your business grow without backpedaling on your current successes. You can keep your current customers and offers while opening up new opportunities. Then you can either balance both or gradually phase out the old. The trick is to do so carefully, strategically, and with purpose. This isn’t a wild impulse. It’s a deliberate choice to build on the strong foundation you’ve already laid, applying the same lessons you’ve already learned. With research, strategy, and spot-on messaging you can grow and transform for the next stage of your entrepreneurial journey. You’ve learned the lessons about the fundamentals necessary for success… So get back to basics and do it again. #MarketingStrategy #Entrepreneurship #success

  • Nothing wrong with pruning the stuff that isn’t serving your goals out of your marketing outreach… But be deliberate about it. Chopping without a strategy can stunt your growth potential… Unless it kills your business first. #Business #Marketing #MarketingStrategy

If your cost-cutting measures reduce your marketing budget but cost you the leads and sales you need to keep running your business… How much money did it really save you? ?? #DigitalMarketing #Marketing #MarketingStrategy

  • 9/10, if you feel like your B2B marketing is too salesy… It is. One of the best things about B2B sales is the freedom to drop high-pressure emotion-based sales tactics. It’s not that business leaders don’t use emotion when making decisions… It’s that they’re buyers who make decisions through two lenses: One is their personal interests in the decision… The other is the need to justify the decision as a business expense that will meet a goal… Both hats involve emotion and strategy equally. But most experienced business leaders are naturally wary of making big decisions under pressure. They can do it. But they’re usually inclined to think really hard about the decision because the stakes can be high, both personally and professionally. Applying artificial pressure increases their resistance. You help your reader overcome objections with a marketing that has a 50/50 balance between the emotional and logical reasons to buy. And if making a decision is time-sensitive, explain why now is the right time for them. Is not addressing an issue costing them money? ?? Are they missing out on talent? ?? Will they fall behind their competitors by not jumping on this cutting-edge technology? ?? Use your B2B marketing to be your reader’s trusted advisor. When they view you as the secret weapon in their back pocket, ready to help them meet their goals, your sales will skyrocket. ?? #DigitalMarketing #B2BMarketing #AdvertisingAndMarketing
